WHAT
CLIENTS SAY ABOUT GARDENSWARTZ &
ROWE...
"I have had the opportunity
to work with Lee and Anita on two intensive
training events where Lee and Anita presented the
SHRM Diversity Train-the-Trainer four-day
certificate program to approximately 40 in-house
Detroit Edison diversity facilitators.
"What I liked about their
approach was:
- Their mix of
lecture/experiences, book material, and group
exercises
- The end-of-the-day check
to determine if changes were needed
- Their ability to work
with a group of individuals that were at
different points on their personal diversity
journey
- Their ability to accept
feedback for change from the
participants
- Their ability to work
with union represented employees mixed with
non-union
- Their flexibility to
adjust to the learning needs of the team and
still cover the material that needed to be
covered
"What is it like to work with
Lee and Anita?
- It's liking riding a jet
plane and a hovercraft---when we needed to move,
we moved---when we needed to hover, we
hovered
- It's like being a kid in
a toy store---everything (all of the tools,
exercises look so good) but having a good sales
associate to point you to the toy you need to
get the results you want
- It's like being with a
doctor that is the expert but has a good bedside
manner (they are the expert, you know it, but
they maintain your dignity---answering all the
'stupid' questions with patience and
compassion
"Lee and Anita are experts in
their field. They know the business of diversity.
Through their teaching technique, we were able to
raise the confidence level of many facilitators
that I think I was about to lose. If we need a
'shot in the arm', I wouldn't hesitate to contract
with them again."
Nikki Moss
Detroit Edison
"I have dealt with many
consultants over the years and I found the level of
professionalism, integrity, and creativity
exhibited by Lee Gardenswartz and Anita Rowe to
surpass all others. Their collaborative approach
and superior knowledge base produced innovative
solutions to difficult situations. They provided
customized material and most important, they
followed-up. The organization I worked with derived
rich benefits from this truly dynamic duo. I look
forward to working with them again in the
future."

"I am privileged to have
worked with Gardenswartz & Rowe for nearly a
decade. During this time, Gardenswartz & Rowe
was instrumental in helping Sempra Energy develop
highly successful and recognized, innovative and
creative approaches to diversity training and
development. They are particularly adept at working
through abstract and complex issues&emdash;critical
in our continually changing work environment. I
look forward to achieving new heights with
Gardenswartz & Rowe in the new
millennium."

Director, Corporate Diversity
Sempra Energy
"I was faced with an
opportunity and challenge in 1990 as a newly
elected bank president. The bank was foreign owned,
Its customers were majority older Americans with
important concentrations of newly immigrated
groups, Asian and Latino. The challenge was to
manage a diverse workplace, market and ownership.
The opportunity was to develop a successful
sustainable banking business in Los Angeles. It is
my belief I accomplished both.
"I used Gardenswartz &
Rowe's cultural sensitivity workshops in my bank. I
believe Gardenswartz & Rowe made a huge
difference in the way our staff interrelated and
they now better understand why persons of different
cultural backgrounds may react differently to the
same situational opportunity. They learned that
cultural differences are not bad, they are simply
different. Staff members would come to me for weeks
after the seminars to express that Gardenswartz
& Rowe's sessions were an enrichment program
without peer, and I noted that they related to one
another with more confidence than before. I sensed
they felt better about themselves. The staff
turnover at our bank was far less than competitive
banks and for the financial services industry in
general, I think in part due to our staff's
exposure to the approach, expertise, and sincerity
of Gardenswartz & Rowe. In a word they live
their subject. And it shows. I hold them in high
esteem as a resource in business and I am honored
to have Lee and Anita as friends.

Former bank president
Lee and Anita are two of the
most professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate
individuals I've ever met, much less had the
pleasure to work with as consultants. Their more
than fifty years of combined experience in
diversity make them stand out as true leaders in
the field. They are also unique in their extensive
experience with helping healthcare organizations
get a handle on diversity.
They were formative in the
movement in America to focus on valuing individual
differences among both employees and customers as a
way to enhance satisfaction, morale, productivity,
and market share. Shands HealthCare is extremely
fortunate to have such competent and committed
consultants assisting us with this sometimes
challenging but very important strategic
initiative.
